Carbon Credits
With every Littar project we generate validated Carbon Credits. Littar is made with plastic and glass waste that would normally be burned, landfilled or down-cycled at high costs and emissions. Up-cycling this waste in Littar’s highly efficient production process reduces the emissions from conventional waste disposal drastically. Additionally, the reduction of mineral aggregates in road foundations by using Littar reduces emissions up to 83% compared to the status quo. Making Littar a carbon-negative construction material.
One carbon credit equals one metric ton of CO2 removed. A carbon credit is tradable certificate or permit representing the right to emit a set amount of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of a different greenhouse gas (tCO2e).
We offer these credits to industries or individuals in order to offset their carbon emissions. Our credits are sold as digital Carbon Credit Certificates. Littar’s carbon footprint and CO2 reduction has been determined using Climate Impact Forecast tools and principals from Life Cycle Analysis, reviewed and validated by Impact Forecast.
All carbon credits and their certificates are one of a kind and unique to its purchaser. Once a carbon credit has been purchased, it is being “retired”, meaning it can never be sold again.
